AEROPEX FAQ
Charge the headphones with the included magnetic charging cable. The LED indicator will turn from red to blue when charging is complete.
Aeropex takes 2 hours to charge from 0 to 100 percent. They arrive out of the box at approximately 50 percent charged.
To turn your headphones on, press and hold the volume+ button, which also acts as the power button. Audrey will say “Welcome to Aftershokz.”
To turn your headphones off, press and hold the volume+ button, which also acts as the power button. Audrey will say “Power Off.”
Begin by holding the headphones horizontally, with the transducer side facing up, closest to your body. Lift the headphones over your head, so the back of the wraparound headband sets in place at the base of the head, and the transducers rest on your cheekbones in front of your ears (not nested inside or covering your ears).
No sound leak, music is just for you to enjoy.
Enter pairing mode by pressing and holding volume+ until Audrey says “pairing” and the LED indicator flashes red and blue, then click Multifunction button twice.
It doesn’t matter if you wear headphones first or glasses/helmet first. But if you wear headphone first, it may sit on your head better.
- Aeropex Breaks New Ground In Sound Quality
- Aeropex vibration is titled against the face at 30 degrees, allowing a more dynamic range of base and fewer vibrations
- Excellent mid to high frequency response: the vibrations in the range of the human voice and a little higher are purer with a smooth frequency response curve. This means that the Aeropex is comparable or even superior to traditional ear buds.
- IP67 Waterproof – Aeropex, IP55 Waterproof -Air
- We have reinvented bone conduction technology and removed the LeakSlayer holes on the transducers, designing the Aeropex to be waterproof. Every Aeropex will be tested on the assembly line to ensure it can be submerged in up to 1 metre of water for as long as half an hour.
- Lighter and smaller
- The Aeropex is 30% SMALLER AND 15% LIGHTER than the Air headphones. (Air-30g, Aeropex-26g)
- Lower leakage, louder sound
- Sound leakage allows people next to you to hear your conversation. It damages the privacy of your headphones, and affects the people around you. LeakSlayer holes were drilled on the Air transducers to reduce leakage and it has been effective. However, we removed the LeakSlayer holes to make the Aeropex more aesthetically pleasing and waterproof, whilst at the same time still reducing leakage by 50%.
- Smaller battery, longer battery life
- Albeit smaller in size, the Aeropex transducer is more powerful, whilst consuming less power. Aeropex also uses the latest Qualcomm chip 3024 to greatly reduce Bluetooth power consumption. Whilst the battery is reduced to 145mah from 180mah, the battery life is extended to 8 hours from 6.
Our headphones are IP-67 certified, While some moisture is okay, like sweat and light rain, we do not recommend submerging your headphones underwater. If you would like to use our headphones while swimming, we do have the other headphone called Xtrainerz, which is designed for swimming.
Bone conduction is a natural part of the hearing process—sound travels through your eardrums and bones simultaneously. We’ve taken the concept to the next level through a suite of proprietary audio technologies and design patents.
1.Our patented transducers create mini vibrations that travel through your cheekbones.
2.The sound bypasses your eardrums, traveling directly to your inner ears (cochlea).
The result:A reinvented listening experience, through an open ear design. Premium audio, situational awareness and extreme comfort—second to none.
AfterShokz bone conduction headphones are a great fit for runners, cyclists, and other athletes; but fitness enthusiasts are not our only customers. Our ShokzSquad is made up of individuals in the professional, law enforcement, manufacturing and construction industries, as well as those who are blind or experience hearing loss.

AfterShokz has a strong community of individuals with hearing loss.
While our headphones arenothearing aids, we do have customers who use our headphones to assist with hearing by pairing them to their phones and using an amplifier app. These apps use the mic on the phone to pick up surrounding sound, which is then transmitted through the headphones. The most popular app our customers use is Petralex.
As a sport headphone company, we don’t have the qualifications to determine whether our headphones will work for any particular individual, or improve the effects of any medical condition, but with a 30-day return window on all orders placed on our website, and plenty of retailers with in-store demos, we encourage you to give them a try.
Yes, bone conduction headphones can benefit those with vision loss by allowing users to listen to navigation instruction while still hearing their surroundings.
We recommend that you clean your Aeropex on a regular basis by rubbing it down with a clean, dry cloth.
When not in use, we suggest you store your Aeropex in a safe, dry place within a portable pouch, semi-hard silicone case, or hard case.
Aeropex is IP67 certified, so it should withstand rain, snow and sweat; we recommend wiping down the headphones and giving them time to air-dry before storing or charging.
We have also designed a sweat sensitive charging alarm in the Aeropex, it would start vibrating if the charge port is wet. Wipe the port with soft tissue, wait until the port is dry enough then you could charge now.
