WHAT IS BONE CONDUCTION AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
Most of the sound that reaches our ears, is achieved through air conduction. However, we have another way to hear sound; through bone conduction. This is where the sound bypasses your eardrum and is heard directly by the cochlea (the inner ear).
Any tiny vibrations that occur on the skin and bone, as produced by bone conducting headphones such as those in the Aftershokz range, are carried through the bones to your cochlea. In a sneaky twist, your cochlea doesn’t realise that the sound is coming from the bones, rather than the eardrum, and you still process the sound in the same way, meaning you can hear the sound clearly.
